Mrs Shelley's Antics!
Hhhiiiyyyaaa!!!
Today was a I cannot be bothered day but let me present the slow cooker. When it is that type of day, oh my, the slow cooker is making an appearance. Why am I using the slow cooker? I am making slow cooked pork ribs.
I absolutely love using golden syrup. It reminds me of pancake day. It seems strange throwing golden syrup into the slow cooker but trust me on that one. Alright maybe trust me with the Maple syrup too. I love how the pure Canadian maple syrup pours out and oozes luxury. Much better than the cheaper gloopy syrups.
I am still in my era of using dry garlic granules. Especially today when I cannot be bothered to prepare fresh garlic. Oooh Mrs Shelley is in a grumpy mood today.
Now admittedly I bought a lot of pork ribs and they were quite expensive. Not what I usually would pay for a meal but I really wanted pork ribs today and if I want them then I am having them. It's ok I did have the money for it but it really bothered me spending that amount of money on it. I'll call it a once in a blue moon event. I definitely held the two packets of ribs to my ears. Imagine that, pork rib earrings. That would be the equivalent to real diamonds.
I do not always like touching meat with my bare hands but on this case I had to do it. The ribs were so big that it was a task trying to baste them with the syrup mixture in the slow cooker.
It did not take me very long at all to prepare this dish. So simple. I love slow cookers because you just turn it on and leave it all day and don't have to do anything with it.
I decided to buy a packet of coleslaw and mix it with mayo and black pepper which would go perfect with the ribs. No way was I cutting up cabbage and carrots today. Today was all about easy. A lot of people say "Mrs Shelley don't you wash your vegetables that come in bags". The answer is no if it says it has been washed. I'm not washing it again.
A super meal and it fed a family of four with leftovers and of course it deserved a Mrs Shelley curtsy.
If you do not follow me on social media, the links are on this website and the video to the recipe is on there the same day as I publish this recipe.
I hope you love the picture of the recipe above. It shows my mood for today.
